paleo recipes
I'm not in on the challenge, but here are a few Paleo staples from my kitchen:
Workout
snow-in
I milk my living room gym for all it's worth. Last night, we were "snowed in" (not really) and CrossFit was canceled, so A. and I did a very involved OPT workout at home. The obstacle: one bar, two people, and two alternating exercises with a million drop sets. In under a half hour we did 40 plate changes.
Workout
ready for a rest day
I took today off, but here was yesterday's workout at CrossFit Performance. I worked out with a group of awesome, strong competitive ladies who all schooled me in the final 5 minute jumprope workout.
Workout
slow and low
Another OPT workout. I've never done ass-to-grass squats before, and these were at a super-slow tempo (4 second descent). This caused me to knock some weight off what I might normally back squat, but will be very beneficial in Oly lifts.
A. High-bar back squats, full depth
5 rounds of 4-6 reps, 4 second descent, accelerate up, 1 second at the top, 90 sec rest b/w rounds
Workout
feel the burn
I'm experimenting with James Fitzgerald's OPT regime at the moment. That's what I did last night, and that's what I did this morning with much living-room rearranging. It's a little over-the-top with timing, but it's efficient and I like it. Cool new take on CrossFit. Nothing was killer here except the glute-ham raises.
Workout
shoulder press
The strict press is my nemesis, but I am getting better. Chalk up another living room workout:
PRESSES
10 x 65#
10 x 75
5 x 80
4* x 85
3 x 90
2* x 95
1 x 100 (PR)
0* x 105
(* = tried another rep but failed)

Oops.
I typo'd the address . . . zip code is 10014. Pier 40 is the best. The roof is awesome for working out OR making out!
CrossFit Gotham?
Does anyone know anything about CF Gotham . . . their website says they're in Chelsea, but they don't make their address apparent. Very cryptic. But I'd love to hear from anyone who has visited.
I got some awesome home gym birthday presents: a 14# dynamax ball and a plyo box, which has yet to be assembled. Also, my downstairs neighbors moved out, so until there's a new tenant we can Oly lift in the living room!!
