And with that the November 1000's are done! WOOO hoo. Now, my achy abs (which nicely are taking attention away from my achy from climbing shoulders and arms) are going to lounge like a lump on the couch and drink a well deserved cocktail.

Tonight I did more hanging out watching then climbing but I did manage to conquer a really hard route that I was really proud of and I met the lovely Christine N. too. So all in all a good night!

Tonight was a struggle, not once I actually started but getting started was ridiculously hard. I had a crap, crazed day and worked late (again)... it was a day that just made me want to go home, put on my jammies and have a cocktail. So I stood outside the gym for a while trying to make myself go in, then I sat like a lump in the locker room trying to talk myself into changing into my workout clothes. The only thing that made me do it was the thought "you don't have to do a lot but you HAVE to do something."
So I got on the treadmill ran 3 miles in just under 30 minutes (not so speedy but with interval sprints thrown in) and then went and did a bunch of core work before calling it day.
Great? Nope. But SOMETHING, and today that was really a herculean effort.

I am wallowing, but even with that I went to the gym today and ran fast and lifted weights and just in general kicked my ass until that was all I could focus on. Not the worst plan in the world. Then I came home, made my favorite easy super healthy meal before I allowed myself the cocktail I so wanted.

Ah today was one of those days were going to the gym was the last thing I wanted to do, but I went. I did a good circuit and then bailed.

Tonight was a good night at the gym but only for cardio. I got one of the better treadmills - the temp gym has a lot that are insanely old and shaky - mine tonight was one of the more solid so I did a hard interval routine. It was great to really run it out and challenge myself. I did 1 minute intervals every 5 minutes, with a faster base pace of 6.1 which for me is speedy. My circuit routine though was like pulling teeth so I bagged it and went back up to the treadmills to run another mile and 1/2 to make it a full 5 miles. I was just really into cardio tonight and since my arms are so sore from all the climbing just running was nice!

Once in a blue moon, my workout doesn't knock out the beginning stages of wallowing after a bad day. Tonight was one of those nights, my slight wallow was blown into a full on pity party by the end of what was a really good, solid workout.
My points for the night come coming home and instead of saying f'it, and eating crap I made my favorite quickie healthy meal. In my fridge, there is always frozen broccoli, eggs and salsa. Always, so I never have an excuse. My meal goes like this : first you put a little salsa in the bottom of a shallow bowl, then the cooked broccoli, topped with 2 egg whites and one whole egg scrambled on top and voila! It isn't so exciting but a good, filling meal with protein and veggies and takes less then ten minutes. Nice.
