Today was an awesome day. Seriously, awesome. It started out with a group meeting filled with fitness junkies like myself followed by an impromptu yoga class at one of my favorite studios, with one of those fantastic, hands-on instructors who give great corrections, followed by some yummy iced coffee (and a touch of work) then home to make my favorite crockpot dish before heading back out to the gym to run 3 miles in 28 minutes. Then back home to pick up my climbing gear and meet the fella to head over to BKB. We climbed lots, had loads of interesting conversations, worked hard and sweated tons. AWESOME.
Ok, so I didn't workout, that said if I had this wouldn't have happened....Tonight on my way back to the apartment, I saw a set of keys in a door, with both house keys and car keys on it. I walked by and then was like oh geeze that isn't ok. So I walked back and rang the bell. I waited for a minute on the stairs and this little old man poked his head behind the window. I pointed at the door and he shook his head. I walked up the stairs, pulled out the keys and showed them to him. He got this shocked look on his face and opened the door. I handed him the keys and said, "I didn't want anyone to be able to break in - have a good night!" And turned around to leave. He said "You are a wonderful girl! Thank you!!"
Way better then a workout, because it was a moment that was good for my karma if not my body!
So I have been sick and hacking up a lung for a week. Tonight I was tired of wallowing in my sickness and my cough seemed to be gone during the day at least... so off to the gym I went. I ran on the treadmill, did some speed intervals and hill climbs. Slow and painful but I did it and it did make me feel a little better. Then I disinfected my machine like a crazy person - I didn't want to be an asshole and spread the evil crud. Not a workout to really be proud of but it was something.
Oh yeah. Climbing with the new shoes. Rocking. Really it was just what I needed after a super craptastic day.
Climbing with the fella at Brooklyn Boulders again.... really it is the most fun. We did so many hard and super challenging routes. Today I did routes where I actually had to jump for holds - and I made them. It was freaking rad. The fella does hard stuff a lot anyways but today he did some really awesome routes too. We are getting better and we are totally hooked.
Tomorrow our shoes are supposed to get our climbing shoes... then we won't have to rent anymore! YAY!
To top off the awesomeness of today, I made us homemade lasagna. A lovely cheat meal of love and yummy-ness.
Today was great. Started with Boot Camp on the bridge, then yummy joe's coffee and the green market, then home to go to the Flea with the fella.... and then loads more wandering.
Ah today was one of those days were going to the gym was the last thing I wanted to do, but I went. I did a good circuit and then bailed.
