Alright, NYSC, I get what you're doing. You've made the gym temp so high there's no way it's less than 80 degrees to try to get the resolution people to overheat and decide they have to buy a membership. Or something like that. Whatever it is, please stop it is too hot!!
I just focused on cardio today, ran 2.5 miles and walked some as well. Started with some abs- better plan than thinking I'll do it at the end.
And I haven't had 3 meals yet today, but I have planned for tonight so I'm counting it now. Woo!
First workout of 2013 (last trainer session was on new years eve). Fortunately it wasn't TOO packed with resolution folks. I did a full weights circuit and 30 min of cardio. I have been having a helluva a time motivating to get up on the morning and an even worse time getting out of work at a reasonable time. Help me, oh Internet!
Well, after far too long without a workout, I had my first post-Sandy training session today. Yesterday I walked about 3 miles throughout the Upper West, seeing what was going on and counting my blessings that all I was worried about (in my neighborhood) was the status of the subway. Today's workout was all kettlebells, all the time. Not easy.
Hope everyone is holding up ok- keep my precious Jersey shore in your thoughts!
Trainer this morning. Did a TRX session, which I always like but also ends up being slightly awkward because of the placement of the TRX stuff. I constantly feel like I'm in the way, and yet I'm paying a lot of money for that hour and I will take up as much space as I want, thankyouverymuch! At the very end we did some planks which did not make me want to die, which I will take as a sign of progress.
I was remarkably impressive at talking myself out of working out this week. Bad. Very bad. Finally made it back today for some cardio, weights, and abs, as per the challenge. Here's to week 2...
Oh Social Workout, have I got a story for you. I had the trainer this morning- I really like this woman, but I'm not sure how she can maintain a business when she is never really on top of when we have a session. We headed to Riverside Park since it's probably one of the last times we'll be able to workout outside for a while. We did lots of lunges and squats and things with the exercise bands. And a whole new kind of torture on new steps. Afterwards I felt a little like Rocky and a little like I was going to fall over.
As we head back to the gym, another trainer (not from the gym) who we've seen a couple of times stops us and asks if trainer has a card. She doesn't, so she gives him her phone number. I assume this is based on a previous conversation and work related. She then says "Why am I giving you my number?" and male trainer says, "Because I think you're beautiful and I wanted to ask you out, and I couldn't come up with a better excuse." Trainer got picked up in the park!! At which point, all of the episodes of Law and Order SVU that I watched this weekend start running through my head and I think, "You don't give your number to a stranger in the park! Stranger danger!" On the other hand, I was amazed that he used that line and it actually worked. So we'll see what happens, but I like to think that I'm good luck. Or something.
Then I got home and there were people painting our fire escape, which happens to be out my bedroom window. And I broke a glass and it shattered all over my floor. Two unrelated but odd moments of the morning that I thought I'd share.
Cardio at the gym today. Ran three miles and walked an additional one afterwards. Three sweaty, unglamorous, ugly miles.
Cardio and weights this afternoon. Appear to be out of practice in both but made the effort. There was a fascinating collection of people at the gym today.
