My pants fell off on the treadmill last night. Buffin was pushing my top level on a running interval workout, and just before my pants fell far enough to expose all my business, I caught them. I spent the rest of the run holding my pants up, which I rather liked because it gave me something to think about other than running. You know your trainer is doing his job right when your pants fall off in the middle of a workout.
Buffin very sweetly rigged the Gravitron (assisted pull up machine) to make it more like aerial silks. He tied towels to the handles so I can mimic aerial pullups. I found it rather romantic, like when my dad duct-taped my step-mom's favorite scotch glass so it wouldn't leak anymore. In my family, MacGyvering something so it will work is the ultimate expression of love.
Naughty Flog (food-log):
1 glass of sauvignon blanc
1 glass of rosé
1 Snickers Bar (what? it has nuts in it.)

Last Wednesday was the last class of my 6 week silks workshop at The Art of Fitness in Astoria. A very nice husband of one of the students took pictures for us. My split rollup is looking better. What's really better is that when I lose the footlock, I can fix it myself without touching the floor. Saturday, I took my friend Y. to silks class in Astoria. She did really well, especially since it was her first time and she's trying to get back in shape after giving birth to my beautiful godson 10 months ago. We joke that her celebrity baby weight loss plan is just to give the weight to the baby. It's a plan that's working, as he's 27lbs and improves her upper body strength daily! I was so proud to introduce her to a fun workout, and best of all, I got to have lunch with her afterwards and get some quality time with that baby's admirable amounts of chub. Seriously. His chub is so great, I bury my face in his fat little cheeks every chance I get.

My glutes are so sore from Thursday's training session with mon petit buffin that when I first tried to climb the silks in today's class, it was like when someone holds the Road Runner's tail in cartoons and he just pedals in place. No traction whatsoever. We tried getting into the iron cross (see picture for example) from a footlock. I didn't hold on properly and fell straight through the front of the silks. Kaboom - face first onto the mat. I have eaten a lot of mat in my time, but that was a veritable mat buffet. Good thing I'm classically trained in pratfalls. My one triumph was that I wrapped a (very sloppy) footlock in the air. Hooray for the small victories!

Day 1 of my BPC juice cleanse and I'd scheduled a session with Blueberry Muffin and the first class of my 6-week aerial silks workshop in Astoria. A juice cleanse and two workouts in one day? I don't recognize myself and I feel a little bit like I'm in a Lifetime movie starring Tracy Gold. Sass, who's DIY cleasing, and I were texting back and forth all day about our juicy version of "A Secret Among Friends."
PT session with BBMuff was solid. My plank is up to 1:30, so we're on a track for a 2 minute plank by the end of the month. Note my much-admired by BBMuff purple pants and my plank in this picture taken by my friend D., who was also working out at Crunch. After my session, D. and I went to our favorite Italian place to talk about his wedding. It was torture - usually we split prosecco and pizza, and of course I couldn't have any because, as my new favorite expression goes, "I'm on a cleanse." To make it worse, the waiters brought over plates of free salami and pasta. Agony! Then, while I was walking to the subway, a woman offered me a free granola bar. What is wrong with the universe?!!! Don't they know I'm on a cleanse???!!!
Silks in Astoria was good - very, very "first day" and everyone else was an absolute beginner, but we did a lot of conditioning, which is good for me. I can't believe I'm drinking juice again tomorrow.*
*Full disclosure: I had some celery sticks and part of an avocado, and I loved chewing them.

Friday afternoon, due to a scheduling snafu, I took a silks class and had a training session with BBMuff. Who am I, Sassletic? In silks we worked a lot on the express elevator. It's really hard to just hang by your legs while your hands are rewrapping the silks. I asked Lily, who's really good at it, what she squeezes most to stay up in the air like that. She said, "I squeeze everything, Even my vagina." BBMuff and I did a lot of jumping on plyo boxes and pushups. The things that man gets me to do!

I took an aerial silks class at the New York Trapeze School before my rehearsal began this afternoon. I liked this instructor much better than the last instructor I had there. It's a little weird when I take classes at the Trapeze School, because I know a lot of stuff, but am not strong enough to carry it off well. Highlight of the day was that after my Man on the Moon rollup, I unwrapped my footlock and wrapped back to standing on the silk, instead of sliding back to the ground like I usually do. I also successfully wrapped my footlock in the air twice! I hope I can show off my big girl moves to Heather in Monday's class. The other student in the class was Kristine, who teaches Cirque Style Fitness in Astoria. It was fun seeing her outside of teacher mode, and it was comforting for me to see that even people who know a lot still have a lot to learn. I'm so sore from the class I had to take a 90 minute bubble bath tonight. The eucalyptus-arnica bubbles I got from the health food store just do not quit - there were enough to make me into Bubble Beauty Queen Wearing Enormous Bubble Bikini During Bubble Blowing Talent Competition!

Leaving town is stressful. I was running around like a maniac. Kaitlyn helped me pick out presents for my god-muffins. Yay Christmas shopping using no plastic bags.
