Tuesday's session with Buffin demolished me. I thought I was going to fall asleep while holding a kettle bell. We did lots of circuits that I can't even remember, but they involved prisoner lunges, pushups, kettlebell swings, turkish getups, plyo jumps, planks, situps and a lot of walking bands and squats.
Anthony, Fraidy's trainer, has a new favorite trick, which is to sneak up behind me and scare me in the middle of a session. After I finished screaming, he told me about Fraidy's shoulder, and how proud he was that she still wanted to work out. Then he showed off pictures from his phone of Fraidy at her sister's wedding. Fraidy looked smokin'! Obviously our trainers love us, obviously we are their favorite clients.

Well, I didn't mean for yesterday to be my rest day, but it was. The sub for silks class was very delayed on the train, and arrived 15 minutes before class was over, at which point I had given up and started changing out of my workout clothes. Note to self: always pack running shoes and a high-impact sports bra, just in case.
My beautiful acts were wearing this smokin' new outfit, and taking Lady Bulldozer to dinner.

Lyra class + Sassletic's spin class. It's very disorienting to try out a new aerial apparatus.

Buffin + Yamuna Body Rolling yoga. One of my friends came up to me at Crunch, while I was training with Buffin, and he planted a big wet one right on my smacker, right in front of Buffin. It was the best rest break in between sets I've ever had.

Buffin was out of town on Thursday, so I took the opportunity to take a yoga class taught by my friend Megan. Megan teaches a yoga class especially for plus-size women at all levels of experience. It was a nice, gentle class, with lots of modifications for every body (heh). I really enjoyed seeing a bunch of ladies having the opportunity to practice in a comfortable and welcoming environment, and I picked up a few tips for maneuvering my bodaciousness in certain poses.
Check out Megan's site at megayoga.com, if you're interested.

Hour-long spin class after rehearsal and some time in the sauna. Trying to sweat out a cold I caught yesterday.

One of my friends gave birth on Tuesday night, which brings my posse of fairy godmuffins up to a grand total of 8. Being short on time, my fitness plan on Wednesday was to go for a jog before visiting the bebe before rehearsal. Before I left, I texted my friend to see if she needed me to bring anything to the hospital. She replied, "Yes, beer...and bananas." So, don't tell Buffin, but yesterday's cardio was a run...to the liquor store. For real, I planned my loop so I could end at the liquor store down the block from my apartment. It was bit awkward to purchase beer and champagne while huffing and puffing, looking very red and sweaty (I swear, this is exercise sweat, sir, not withdrawal sweat!), but a busy fairy godmother's gotta do what busy fairy godmother's gotta do. Besides, when a woman who's recently given birth makes a request for beer, it's not really a walking kind of situation. If she can push out a baby, the least I can do is ruuuuuuuuuuun!
