Buffin and I took it easy because of my back. And by easy I mean we just did big weights on cables, not picking them up from the ground.
Pit stop by Yamuna studio to try to roll out my back strain. I think it worked. What I learn from body rolling: all the problems in my back start with my butt.
I pulled something in my back. Luckily my assistant stage manger is my new BFF, and he stretched my legs for me. I really need to give him a raise. One of the actresses and I text at midnight to see if the other is in bed. I did go to bed by midnight on Saturday night, but then I stayed up until, um, 3am-ish reading the first book of the Nightshade series. The author is giving a talkback after a performance of our show, and once I realized her series was a YA paranormal romance adventure, well, I was hooked.
Highly reccommend it: http://www.andreacremer.com/nightshade.html
Buffin time. I remember I was sore.
Chest & shoulder day with Buffin. In between sets, he made me run in place with high knees. It is my least favorite activity, so I invented a new game where I'm not running place, I'm running on his [imaginary] face. It passes the time much better.
After the workout, I took a brief pause in the sauna, and then went to rehearsal, where we choreographed the climax of the play. It's a sweaty bunch of business, and afterwards. I felt like I had just taken a spin class. I'm not allowed to talk about the climax of the play, but I did steal this picture of my dirty feet from our dramaturg's instagram feed.
Silks class: Hip keys, knee hook climbs & my fancy seatbelt drop/stand combo.
This is my new trick. Seatbelt drop, then stand on the silks. It takes a lot of muscle power to stand on fabric.
Mama Silk is getting really famous. So famous that she's going to be on TV. I was invited to come early to class so we could film the amazing Stephanie Howard of worldstretch.com taking an aerial silks class for Toni ON! New York (CBS). Everyone in the class got to wear a pair of World Stretch's fabulous workout pants. The velvet ones had the best grip for the silks, and all the designs made our booties look good. I'm a big fan of the pants, and of the woman-owned, locally produced, socially-conscious business! After we filmed, I stayed to take the real class. After two hours of silks, I was toast.

Best Valentine's Day EVER! Sassletic came to my training session with Buffin, which is pretty much my best fantasy date come true. I was wearing pink and sweating with my muffin and my Buffin!! We did side planks, weighted planks, pullups, cable rows, and of course deadlifts. Sassletic lifted 95lbs, (the equivalent of her mom) and I did 135lbs (the equivalent of Sassletic and part of her mom). I'm going to give up on weights and start tying straps to my friends and just lifting them. As if my dream Valentine's Day couldn't get any better, Buffin gave me a big pink heart full of chocolate (which I promised not to eat all by myself in one sitting, and I won't because I've been sleeping with the that pink heart ever night so now the chocolate is pretty smushed). Then, I brought valentines to rehearsal for my cast, and finished with night with Kaitlyn B., burying my face in a bouqet of real roses and rosé champagne. Then, at midnight, just like Cinderella, I turned into a pink bubbly pumpkin and went home.
Friday silks class. I learned a new french climb with flamenco roll through, which is hard because my wrists aren't very flexible. At night, I crashed a dance party at the American Museum of Natural History the help of Erin C. (lady bulldozer) and Miss Fatbridesmaid. Our photo shoot, ninja door crashing skills and my sequined pants were the hits of the party.
