First workout since last Sunday's marathon. Gorgeous sunny day. Easy 4.25 mile run in 43'31". Legs felt really good and I kind of didn't want to stop running. All of the marathon guides say to take it easy those first few weeks after the marathon, so I am trying to be good and listen to the pros. What a difference from Monday when I could barely walk down any stairs.

Tried a new pilates class that is foam roller based. Ouch. But in a good way. Super hard class, probably not the best thing for me to be doing as I taper in preparation for the Pittsburgh Marathon this Sunday! But it's my only pilates class for the week. I guess it was good to go out strong.

LONG 18.2 mile run along the Hudson. Felt really good for the first 2.5 hours. Then it started to drizzle. The last 3 miles were really hard and it was a struggle for me not to give up. While I didn't make the full 19 miles that I was scheduled for (hamstrings started cramping on the STEEP hill at mile 18.2), I'm proud that I didn't stop at all during those 3 hours and 19 minutes. Hoping that I can do the full 20 miles (nonstop) that's on tap in 2 weeks.

No running today (rest day). Really great Pilates class at lunch (no one else showed up so it was a private lesson). Lots of veggies and "ancient grains" for lunch. Needed a night to sit at home and veg in front of the TV. Also went through junk mail.

A little cooler today for my run around Central Park after work. It seems that I run faster when it's cooler out. 5.71 miles in 55:13. So very sore from yesterday's Pilates class, but in a good way.

Haven't been going to Pilates as often as I'd like, so went to a Level 2 class at lunch. Didn't think I'd make it through the class, had to cheat at times and modify some of the poses. Ran around Central Park (took the 102nd St transverse to avoid the hilly northern part of the park) and loved seeing all of the flowers and trees in bloom. 5.71 miles in 58 minutes.

Sleepy Sunday. Pilates class, more laundry, the Sunday Times and catching up on shows on my DVR. Just what I needed =)

Long run from Hoboken up to Port Imperial along the Hudson River. 13.69 miles in 2:26. Felt pretty good for the first 2 hours, but the last 25 minutes were pretty slow going. Nice quiet evening at home. Finally got around to doing laundry and going through my mail.

Beautiful day today -- it feels more like summer than spring. Pilates class at lunch time. Got there a bit early and used the foam roller. 5.88 mile run up to and around Central Park (skipping the most northern/hilly part and used the E 104th Street transverse) in 59'06". Much warmer than I thought it would be (72°F). Was sooo glad the water fountains were turned on.

Woke up with a mild sore throat so decided to take today as a rest day. No running or pilates. I did, however, buy a foam roller and rolled out my IT Band while clearing out my DVR queue. Tried to stay hydrated in the hopes that it would help me fight off my latest cold/virus.
