Personal Goals
Just returned from fascinating but grueling business trip. I'm exhausted. I haven't exercised in days. I have these horrifying new bags under my eyes. I look like I'm 80.
All the meals on this trip were pre-planned, but I told the organizers that I don't eat grains and they provided me with some unbelievably great meals. Some cheese was added here and there, but I ate around it.
And now I will sleep until March.
Yesterday was the first day I managed to get to the gym, and ohmygod did I need it. Came back to my son and husband making--wait for it--caramel (long story) so I hid in the shower until they were done. (Luckily they announced that they had burned it and it tasted terrible.) A lot of work and stress is making it hard to avoid sweets, but I can feel how much more stable my mood is on Paleo, and there's no way I'm going back to the sugar rollercoaster.
Off for a three-day work event at a hotel. Should be interesting to see how I do there!
All right, yesterday was torture. I had my first almost uncontrollable craving three weeks into my new Paleo lifestyle, and I almost didn't make it. I could have eaten an entire pizza and covered it in chocolate sauce. I blame this entirely on my impending period which if it doesn't show up soon I don't know what I'll do. Also my kid is home for winter break and I haven't been able to get to the gym yet this week. I am alternately growling and weeping. Awesome.
