need to stop falling asleep and missing the gym :(
quick cardio and beginning of 1000s now cut short because my friend is almost here. that plan to wake up at 5:30 today and work out before work totally failed. maybe tomorrow?
killer spin class! my legs are *burning*
i have to wonder why it makes me feel so vindictive against my ex. i think it must be the music choices. even when i switch instructors, they pick songs that dredge up all the anger from my breakup. for example, last class included beyonce's "broken-hearted girl" and gotye's "somebody that i used to know," and today's started off with adele's "set fire to the rain" and moved into some random dance track that included the lyric "i'm not better without you." WTF? and no, they're not female instructors!
it's probably not good for me in a sense, but it does make me work harder.
hopefully i'll get to yoga later on to help me decompress.
am super behind on yoga practices....as in, i could just rewind to day 2 and start over, which is sort of what i'm doing. it felt really good to focus on the pelvis. i think i need to start keeping my mirror out in the living room during my practice because it helps me focus on the areas of my poses that need work. i think mostly since my anatomy is a little off (i am really knock kneed), i need special focus to be sure all the joints are in proper alignment. i did that today, and my hips feel a lot better.
i also realized that doing yoga with a wrist brace is near impossible, so i took it off halfway through, but i'm feeling ok. probably i should invest in a block because my pile of books kind of toppled partway through my crescent pose (yikes!)
in other news, am post call and totally wasted my afternoon by sleeping and not reading. i guess it's not technically a waste, but now i need to go do some work!
short exercise burst. massage time, then back to finish some laundry....on call tonight :(
training run (3 miles) in 25 degree weather. brisk!
crossfit style training session with one of my best friends, nathan! he's quite the fan of tough love, so he dished it out when i told him i'd missed most of my workouts this week. he's trying to teach me kipping (?) form for pullups, so we used a resistance band for assistance. it felt weird, but it was a nice change from the gravitron. apparently i also had crappy form for my squats, so it really was more like 300 squats because 50 of them sucked. went out later that night and danced for several hours for my friend kristin's bday :)
seriously failing at this month's challenges....all i do is sleep :(
