Personal Goals
Which "yoga break" did you prefer—the breathing exercise or the physical exercise—and why?
I will always prefer the Breathing Exercise over the physical due to just upon waking I do physical, walking, moving, stretching, etc.; but breathing with intention (beyond normal breathing) is powerful to me, it releases and relaxes me within myself; it allows me to "Let Go," of all things worldly.
How did you feel before you took your break?
Just completed cardo yoga so I was completing full cycle, stretching, toning, and now breathing.
How did you feel after your break?
Exhilerating and balanced.
Can you see the value in taking time each day to relax and reset your body and mind?
Most definitely, I feel more energetic, more balanced, and more alive.
Namaste
Week One: Homework.
What was your favorite part of practice this week?
Week One, Day 6: Relax and Unwind with Noll Daniel. (Breathing by stretching); Day 2: AB Strengthener is also a favorite with Alex Crow.
What kinds of physical or mental challenges came up?
In the Week One: Cardio workouts my physical challenge can be balance when moving from downward facing dog to either walking or hoping to my hands; mental challenge is not doing it the way the video wants it done; I instead pause, lower myself to my knees; and re-position myself to the next position. Still not as flexible as I would like, still stiff due to bone breakage.
Was there a tool that got you through the tough parts — either the teacher’s encouragement, your breath, or a practice partner?
Tools would be the towels or blocks; but my tool in certain positions is reconsidering how to do a pose by taking a break, focusing, and beginning with new pose without losing my balance.
The Cardio workouts are a bit tuff for me; so as the instructor states ‘I take breaks when needed.’
How did you feel after the practices physically?
Relaxed, less stressed, excellent; sometimes like jelly and fall asleep.
What was your state of mind after the practices?
My mind either allows me to calm down, releases all the toxins from
my body, feel refreshed...to the point that I could fall asleep.
My state of mind is knowing that I just took good care of my body with the help of these practices; this is part of "me time," and refreshes my love of my organs and muscles. Namaste
Week 3: Homework
1. My favorite yoga practice The best of the Yoga Practices for me was the CORE FOCUS WITH NOLL DANIEL
Creative crunches are the focus in this advanced core workout
It taught me how to breath and when to inhale and exhale during any movement and what the breathing meant to my body, mind, and spirit. It strengthen my core and mainly my back and leg muscles. This exercise was the best for all the conditions that I have acquired throughout
my years; I have a broken 12th vertebrae, two broken feet, and sciatic nerve and muscle damage; so when I say I have no balance or I know my balance is off doing an exercise, it truly is a problem for me.
My favorite part of Noll Daniel's practice routine
Cardio Focus,....Noll Daniel Week Two; Day 5****Best of all practices. And Noll’s prayer at the end of each practice, Grateful of all of our Gifts. Namaste.
2. Tell us which practice was your least favorite and why. Due to lack of balance within me, any practice that has me standing on one leg, twisting a leg either left or right, and holding that position while trying to slowly move downward to a mat...I am not able to do these moves for various physical reasons based on broken bones. Since, I broke my 12th vertebra, squats are also very hard for me to do which I work on everyday but have not been able to get back the strength in my leg muscles that I once had.
I am not sure which one it was but I believe it was in the first week of practices.
Please create three goals that you will commit to after the challenge is over.
1. To continue doing the practice of Stretch and De-Stress, Daily.
2. To have one day as rest which was Sunday in this challenge and to be
thankful/grateful for all my gifts; to meditate on Sunday with breathing and relaxing.
3. To do at least one Stretch/Core practice of Yoga; daily, for my back..
Namaste.
Homework Assignment for Week Two: I preferred the breathing exercise and always will; to me the breathing teaches me to focus and rewards me with releasing toxins from my mind and body. It is very much like Noll Daniel states breathing out is like "Letting Go of the Past/or releasing toxins from my body, mind, and soul. It makes me feel invigorated and I can do these exercises anywhere; even while sitting in traffic, which is calming and relaxing to me.
Yes, I can see the value in taking breaks every day; esp. after going around my house today and letting go of items/things that I just don't need any more.
Taking breathing breaks like meditation rejuvenates my whole being.

Loved the {JJ Prana} breathing certainly a far deeper and more vigorous breathing thus far; made me feel more energized and relaxed like getting rid of toxins out of mind, body, and soul. Loved the Desk exercises, as well,
nothing like stretching my spine and buttock muscle. Am feeling inspired, invigorated, and soooo relaxed. Answers to Homework # 1.
