I NEVER go to a mall. I hate to shop; I'm not a "consumer" of unnecessary stuff. But yesterday was soooooo lousy out that after work I went to a mall on my way home and walked the inside perimeter twice. It cost me $54 in early Christmas gifts for a couple of little ones in my life. Windows are inviting, huh? Next time, the C cards stay in the car; there's no "just in case" involved.

Didn't lose power! Storm's still raging and NO ONE will come to get their hair done today----but I still have to go to work. Driving in this rain and wind will be awful---but I don't have snow, and I have gas, and.......

Yesterday I stood in 40 degree sunshine for over two hours at our polling place, collecting money and food for the local food pantry where I volunteer. We got over $7,000 and bags and bags of food. Folks were sooooo generous!! There are nearly 500 client families in town (and I live in an affluent area!) who get assistance from us. Most are seasonal (building trades) or temporary (moms with little ones who can't work yet) but some are elderly and can't make ends meet. I love working with them.

Hey, it's November! And it's cold, and it's dark. I heard Starbucks in NYC had locked the restrooms and covered plug outlets to keep people from using them. True???? My friends have mostly left the city because of lack of bathroom facilities in their apts.
