  • I am SO sore from yesterday (I'm assuming it has something to do with the gliding discs we used, I hate those). My quads are killing so sitting in child's pose was one of the hardest parts of bodyart today. I did not bike today so I briefly considered taking spin (also because it was Tomas' last class before he travels for the next two months) but I didn't feel like putting myself through more torture.

  • I never meet people with the same name as me, so what are the odds that the girl next to me in Bi-polar class at Crunch has the same name?? Since Diesel changed to Bi-polar we use the gliding discs. There aren't enough for everyone to take two, so everyone takes one and partners up with someone near them. I turned around to the girl behind me, we decided to be partners, and that's when we discovered we have the same name.

  • From when we started yoga in child's pose I knew it would be tough. I was SO tight. And it was a really tough class. We did a whole series of poses with one foot on a block, like lunges, warrior III, and twists. It was crazy hard to balance like that. Then, when we got to headstands Jess asked if I wanted help. I didn't think headstand would be a good idea because I have a bump on my head from the picture frame that fell on it. He laughed, because seriously how often do frames fall off the wall and onto people's heads? Only me. On my bike ride the sun was setting and it was gorgeous. But now bikes are on the not-as-pretty side of the Manhattan Bridge and the views aren't that exciting. I was looking across to the other side of the bridge wishing I was there. So when I got off the bridge into Brooklyn I snuck over to the other side (pedestrian side) and biked halfway across to get some pictures. Attached is one of them.

  • I biked this morning. It was insanely windy. At times I wanted to get off the bike and walk it. But I didn't. I did not bike home. #1 it was windy, #2 I don't have a headlight right now, and it was dark, #3 in school today a picture frame fell off the wall and hit my head. It still hurts. Three excuses were enough for me to take the train home.
Also had a session with Anthony today.

  • Biked to the doctor this morning for my shoulder. It was a completely new route for me. This morning was also really foggy and because I don't have a headlight right now (mine popped off the bike while I was riding this week) I really didn't feel safe. The doctor said I should go to physical therapy to strengthen my shoulder so I won't twist/dislocate it again, also that I need to know my body's limits. On my way home I had some time so I went back through Prospect Park and up the big hill. Later I biked to the city. Went to the gym for Bi-Polar. We were using the gliding discs again. There aren't enough for everyone to have a set so Marc tells everyone to pair up with the person next to me. But everyone around me had a partner. Felt a little bit like I was back in 5th grade when I always picked last for games during recess. I had already biked 16 miles by the time I got to the gym so I didn't stay for the entire class. I still really hate the gliding discs. Total bike miles today was 24.56, and it was slightly exhausting because of the heat.

    • Liz K. Doing real well with that DeCluttering Fraidy; in case you run out, I have more decluttering for you; together we can have fun doing this :-) Go, Fraidy, GO! 1 year ago
    • Fraidy L. Ha @Liz K. I'm really not that clean. Every day I come home and I find a corner to declutter. A lot of times it ends up being the same corner because it justs gets messy again. 1 year ago

  • I didn't bike today because I wanted to get some studying done and I don't think that's possible on a bike. I took yoga today. My shoulder was hurting before class, but it didn't give me too much trouble during class. I was even able to stay up in headstand until Jess said to come down (after he helped me up). At least for the first headstand, there were three, I couldn't do the others.

  • Today was my fastest bike ride into the city. When I got to the gym my average speed was 12.31mph. If I keep up that speed I might be able to join one of the rides with all the bike clubs that say your minimum speed has to be 12mph. It was also one of my weirder rides. I got knocked over onto a taxi by a delivery guy who couldn't keep his balance on his bike while we waited at the red light. Everyone was fine but he could not stop apologizing. He was still saying sorry when we met up at the next light. Then later I was speeding across a particularly bumpy section in the intersection of 2nd and Delancey and my headlight just popped off my handlebar and went flying into the street. I wasn't going to risk turning around to retrieve it. I did go to the gym today but I'm not going to count those minutes as exercise minutes because here's what happened. Tomas is away, but I went to the gym to take the class he normally teaches anyway. When I saw Brooke walking into the GF room I realized she was subbing. I don't like when Brooke subs. But, I was at the gym, and I had to stay because of the gym-pact app I have. I said I would work out 5 days this week and I'm already one day behind because I didn't work out yesterday. For the app you need to stay at the gym a minimum of 30 minutes. I had already biked to the gym, so I wasn't getting on a stationary bike. I didn't feel like running, so I went to the elliptical. I think ellipticals are boring, but whatever. I stayed on there for 12 minutes and then went to stretch for a few minutes. I don't consider any of that to be exercise. But I biked, so that counts.

  • I am the world's biggest procrastinator. When there is something I need to get done (i.e. studying for my two midterms this week), I find a million other things to do. Like clean my room. Or plant. I found this plantable postcard we got last year (see image). It plants chives and I decided to try it. When I was looking for something to plant it in my dad joked I may as well plant the carrot seeds that had been floating around the house. After a quick google search I discovered carrots and chives are actually great companion plants. So they are now both planted in last year's long flower pot thing. That's my 20 minutes of home therapy for today. It was fun. It will be cool if something actually comes out of my planting.

    • jan65 h. remember to keep the soil moist but not soaking wet until the seed germinate. good luck. 1 year ago

    • Liz K. New growth, Fraidy, you could also put a light plastic over it and place in sunny area until germination; plastic will sweat and give it water; like being in a hot house very good for new growth and SPRING :-) 1 year ago

  • I did at least 100 minutes of decluttering (which apparently is not actually a word) yesterday. I took out all my spring/summer stuff and packed away everything winter. I love summer clothes because they take up so much less space.
