A triumphant return to the gym after more than a week with no workouts. Lots of Thanksgiving prep but also a destination wedding and a visit with a friend in town put the workouts in the bottom of the queue. But tonight a 40 minute run plus an hour of body pump. Bonus was carrying loads of Thanksgiving groceries! Tomorrow is turkey pick up!

Took Cari S's advice to increase my workouts so took an advanced yoga class with David Magone at Exhale. I had be at the front of the class because there was no other space! But I reminded myself that I've been doing yoga for more than 10 years AND if I don't TRY something harder, I will never be able to do it. So...it was good! It WAS a challenge and there were times I was dripping sweat and my heart was racing. Beautiful act was really trying all the hard poses and not taking the easy way out if I didn't have to!

Didn't have the best day yesterday, but seeing the devastation from NY and NJ am thankful for what I have, and sending my best thoughts to all of you for really making the best of it. My beautiful act was making a donation to the Red Cross-- I know it's small but hopefully lots of folks making small donations will start to make a difference. I was able to get a warm up run in before doing an hour Barre class. This was at my gym, not Exhale, and just wasn't as hard (the Exhale ones are KILLER).

Beautiful act was buying trail mix for the trick or treaters, even though in the end no one came to my door. Sub in yoga, but I liked her-- it was actually very relaxing but also she had us do some ab work and several lunges.

Felt good to get back to the gym, even though being homebound for only an afternoon isn't so bad. I did a warm up run for just about 16 minutes, then went to 30 minutes of strength training. Followed that with about 10 minutes of stretching and some yoga poses. I made pumpkin gnocchi for dinner and my beautiful act was painting my nails orange and yellow, like candy corn :)

Tom suggested we work out in the building gym together again, so I ran and he used the elliptical. After that I did a bunch of stretches and situps and planks. Beautiful act was cooking soup together!

Only just had time to check the trick or treat-- fortunately climbed 8 flights of stairs today. Unfortunately was hardly outside. Beautiful act was seeing a lovely sunrise over the reflecting pool. Thighs and glutes at Exhale. My legs were shaking it was so hard!

Yoga at Exhale last night-- both invigorating and SUPER relaxing. My beautiful act is really finding relaxing peace in savassana.

Usually I feel refreshed Monday and ready to go, but maybe I just didn't quite get enough rest over the weekend. So my beautiful act yesterday was calling it quits a bit earlier than usual and going to bed a bit earlier. But before that I did have a great workout. A 15 minute treadmill run followed by an hour of Body Pump. My dinner was a crazy mix of all the various veggies and beans in the fridge wrapped up in a wrap. It was interesting.

Got in an unexpected workout when my boyfriend suggested going to the building gym. I ran and he used the elliptical for about 35 minutes, then I completed a full workout with stretching, crunches, plank, donkey kicks and foam rolling. Beautiful act was using the most of the pretty fall day and getting a late season grill in :) Lots of veggies!
