lunchtime workout. 1/2 mile run warmup and thousands. 10 min. of yoga to stretch it all out. love the office gym.
went for a run before the gym. grateful that the rain held off until I got inside. not very inspired at the gym. my butt hurts from the last 3 days of exercise so I didn't want to do any lunges or squats.
tuesday catchup
slept a lot but still woke up tired. Tired is my status quo, I'm tired of feeling tired. Got myself to the gym and started off with just weights and thousands, thought I was too tired for the tread, but once I got started I did 30 min. of intervals for 2.6 miles. It wasn't easy or fun, but I did feel good after. 30 min. of gardening, picking tomatoes and watering was my quiet time today.
I'm grateful that today is Saturday and I still have one more day to relax.
I'm grateful for hot showers. Went camping with the kid and friends for 2 days. Second time this summer and I did not like it any better than the first time. The kids had fun together. I "forced" myself to drink a bottle of white so I could sleep. Didn't hear the raccoons rooting through the garbage, but the birds woke me at dawn, 5:30ish.
Managed to do thousands at the playground.
thousands at the office gym followed by foam rolling. my quads are still sore so the foam rolling was a necessary evil. it hurt so good.
I'm grateful to have a great freelance job with a gym!
I'm paying for all my Sunday enthusiasm — my quads are screaming at me. And to add to it, I went for a 2 mile run during lunch today. My 8k run (in 6 weeks) is actually a trail run. Since I usually run on sidewalks or roads, I decided to try out the trails in the woods near work. It was a nice jog in the shade but my legs and beginning blisters slowed me down to a trot.
feeling pretty cranky on Wed. so got myself to the gym in the late afternoon to burn off some of the negative energy. 25 min. of slow steady on the tread followed by thousands. I've been suffering from runner's toe the past few months so I'm trying to take it easy.
Last night I went to free yoga in the park. There is a runner's club in my hood that started offering yoga on Wed. evenings. I missed the first 4 sessions but was pleasantly surprised by the turnout and the class. There must have been 60 people there. It was a mellow class with a focus on yoga for runners. It was nice to be outside and look up at the clouds during relaxation. It even rained a tiny bit to cool us off. free is good : )
dropped the kid at day camp and went straight to the gym. I've been trapped between the kid and the broken man for the last 2 weeks and it's been keeping me very busy.
back on the tread for intervals. I have an 8K (5 mile) race in october so I have to start a new training program. I've never been able to get past the 3.5 mile mark so this is a challenge for me. Today I did 36min. of short intervals for 3.2 miles. Followed with thousands and lots of stretching. Thought about going to yoga but I couldn't fit it into the schedule today.
There are not many flights of stairs in my everyday life. Montreal is a short city unless you work downtown so it's rare I do more than a few flights a day.
