the kid is back at taekwondo, so I'm back to running around Parc Lafontaine across the street. Haven't been there since June so it was good to test myself. I did 2 laps, 5k in 31.5 min.!!! I did take a pause between laps to drink some water, but that is not included in my time. The weather was cool and cloudy, perfect for running. It wasn't an easy run, but I wanted to do each lap without stopping to time myself. My arms are feeling pretty sore from the last 3 days of gym workouts and it's more difficult to run with a sore upper body. Next weekend is my 8K race. This week I have to concentrate on not overdoing any workouts so I'm in good shape for the race.

I'm grateful for my favorite freelance client, Aldo, and their onsite gym! They made major renovations over the summer and now there is a beautiful new locker room and the gym is 2x as big. 32 min on the tread for 3 miles and bunches of thousands and stretching. Can't believe I forgot to do crunches!!! Also did cardio yoga at 6:30 this morning. I find it really tough to do yoga so early. My body is barely able to stretch.
I need a no chocolate challenge, it's becoming a problem.

The kid had his first swim class in the deep end on Sunday. I'm really proud of him. He did everything the teacher asked without giving up! This was a real stretch for him. After class we went for a long walk in the botanical garden. I'm grateful for a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Fearless Day 14: Many years ago someone told me that I was brutally honest. For this exercise that might be a good thing, but I find that white lies can smooth out the bumps in life sometimes.

started cleaning out the basement today. spent 6 hours moving lumber, tools, 12 snow tires, and piles of other crap. Swept all the floors and now 1/3 of the basement is empty/ready for electricity and drywall. Tossed a lot of stuff and made piles of things to donate/give away. My back is finished.

Much needed rest day from formal exercise but I did spend 2 hours outside on a beautiful fall day cleaning up the garden. temporary unemployment does have it's upsides. As far as tackling my basement mess, I did venture down there and took some before photos. I will start organizing first thing tomorrow morning. yikes!

So today was suppose to be a rest day. This morning I dropped the car off at the shop and missed the shuttle van for my ride home. Since I was wearing workout gear, I decided to run to a nearby Bixi bike share station and ride home from there. I just didn't know that the closest Bixi bike was 3 miles away! I definitely got my workout this morning. 3 mile run and 2 mile bike.
