another bad sleep. the kid's coughing is worse so my stress level is sky high. there are very few things which give me stress. a sick kid is #1.
beautiful act: spent 6 hours cleaning house today because my big sister is coming for a visit tomorrow and because I've started naming the dust bunnies. I'm counting that as my workout.

the kid is sick so I slept about 5 hours last night. It's just a cold, but every time he coughs I wake up. My beautiful act was to let him sleep late and stay home with papa while I went to work.
Soggy, cold day so no outside exercise. I'll use this as my rest day for the week. Already planning my weekend workouts.

beautiful act: got dressed up for the office today. working at home a lot means yoga pants and a tee. For the office I wore a dress, heels, did my hair and put on makeup.
workout: I sweated off the makeup during my lunch time run. 5K/34 min. through the fancy neighborhood enjoying the beautiful houses and parks. stopped for a 10 min. park bench workout at the end.

beautiful acts: took my 3rd sewing workshop today. Made a skirt and it fits! Also, while walking up the street I saw a toddler crawling out her front door in her pjs with her Elmo doll. at first I waved hello and kept going but then I thought it was weird and when I didn't see any parents I rang the doorbell. the father answered the door with another small baby in his arms and was very surprised to see "Alice" escaping. she was very proud of herself. score one for prison break.
workout quickie: ran to the gym 5 min. 25 min. elliptical 15 min. abs, ran home. will have to do weights later with the kid.

cardio: 28 min. bike outside, 20 min. spin bike at gym.
weights: I don't like weights but today I made an effort to do 25 min. of free weights concentrating on upper body. I'm going to feel it tomorrow.
My beautiful act was to be calm and patient with the man today. He's been home on sick leave for 3 months since fracturing his neck and it gets old to see him sleep in every morning. But today I practiced patience, drove him to physio, and didn't complain.

ran to gym, 30 min. intervals on tread, quickie set of abs and reps at home.
my beautiful act today was to treat my car to a spa day. She's 11 years old this month and I've spent a lot of time and money with the mechanic getting her pimped. total mechanical overhaul and full body treatment, paint, chrome, etc. I picked her up on Friday and today was a deep clean of the interior. She looks and smells like a new car!

that was the toughest 90 min. hot yoga class ever. I felt like crying and puking by the end. It probably wasn't that difficult, but I was feeling weak and unmotivated for yoga today. My shoulders are so tight that some poses make me want to cry. after class I saw an ex-yoga instructor outside with his bike. maybe he's stalking the yoga studio after getting fired for very bad behaviour.

I've lost my mojo for the gym. I still go on occasion and work out but I'm not inspired. I think I need to change gyms but the one I go to is a 10 min. walk from home and the only one in my hood. I will probably be okay with that once it starts snowing...

working downtown, along the Lachine canal so I went for my usual 3 mile canal run. stopped 2x for water breaks and 2x for street lights. kept to a 10min/mile pace and it felt good! the nose/cough thing is still there but getting better. I haven't done this route in a few months so it was good to test myself again. My stomach was feeling funny or I would have gone farther. Have to say the cool temps are really great for running.
