I feel revived. Got out of work early, biked back to my car, 30 min. Drove home then went for a run. Slow and steady for 28 minutes. Ended at the gym for body weight training, lots of abs and a weigh-in. Not thrilled by the weight, but Iblame that on the long weekend/lack of cardio.

Bixi biked to work in the morning. The great thing with a bikeshare is that after I drop the kid at school, I can park anywhere close to a metro station and grab a Bixi to get to work. Montreal is a great biking city. Tons of bike paths and lots of pretty, quiet streets to explore. I tend to avoid the bike paths because they are too crowded during rush hour. Today I biked 5.25 miles to work in 34 min. Metroed back to the car because of rain but made it to the gym for a much needed run and weight workout. It's been a while and I felt getting in a good, sweaty workout.

lunchtime run. it was hot out there and I felt like a hot mess when I got back to the office. Will have to rethink my mid-day workouts for the hot days. Wanted to do more exercise at home, but I've been sitting at my computer all evening, working. just finished.
family active time was making dinner with the kid. He was in "charge" of the recipe and I was the assistant. Can't wait until he's doing the dishes too.

still feeling sore from the weekend so when I went for my lunch run my legs were feeling like lead. ran 1.5 miles, stopped in the park for a rezalution workout and trotted back to the office. Need to start putting on sunscreen for my runs. legs are still tired but at least my toes feel ok. yesterday I felt like my toe nails were going to fall off. ouch.

90 min. Of morning gardening. Digging up plants to move around in my mini backyard. In the afternoon we went to the suburbs to visit friends. They live 2 streets from a provincial park/mountain so before I hit the booze I went for a hike. The walk in is 2 km uphill, then a 6 km loop around some lakes and 2 km downhill. I ran some of the lake loop and all of the 2 km downhill at the end. I'm grateful for the cold wine and hot jacuzzi waiting for me at the house. Great weekend!

5k race this morning. beautiful sunny day running in the park. did it in 32 min. without stopping!!! Last year I ran the same race in 30:40 so I was slower this time, but I'm still happy. I give myself a lot of credit for doing this race with only 1 month of real training. I made sure to start out slow, close to the back of the pack and didn't push too hard until the very end. I felt great afterwards. Bubbles are chilling in the frig for tonight :)

working at home and the frig has been calling my name. I wasn't planning on the gym today but I needed something to stop the snack attacks. Quick run to the gym and 40 min. of BW training. lots of leg work, standing ab/core work. pushups, dips, crunches and a slow walk home.

legs and shoulders feeling pretty sore this morning but I still went for my morning run around the park. 2 laps, 3 miles, 31 min. with a few minor stops for shoulder stretching. That's my best time this year so far. Now I feel confident about my 5K next weekend. After the run I used a picnic table for abs, pushups, lunges and some stretching.
