kicking ass! another treadmill run. 5 min. walk (.3 mi) 25 min. run (2.32mi.) it actually felt really good for the first 20 minutes and then I just pushed through until the end. the new treads at the gym have a 30 min. limit which can not be adjusted. they just stop, wham, bam, that's it. kind of annoying when I've got a good thing going on. I will have to use the old machines for longer runs.

finally made it to hot yoga today and I feel sooooo much better. I admit that I'm addicted to exercise and when I don't get my fix I become Ms. Crankypants. And doing yoga at home or at the gym is good but definitely NOT the same as in a hot, dark studio where I can completely forget about the outside world.

We're in that summer limbo between day camp and school. Today I had the option of sending the kid to school for the day but there is no class, just the after school program all day. Usually he would like to do this to see his friends, etc, but this morning he was looking sad and I think nervous about going back to school. So, I decided to be nice mommy and let him stay with me. This means no yoga for me today which is what my body needs, but at least we made it to the gym where he can hang out and watch a movie while I workout. I did another session on the treadmill but felt tired the first 15 minutes so it was hard to get going. In the end I did 2.27 miles in 30 min. with 12 min. of walking. also some thousands and stretching.

took the kid to the park so he could practice his bike. he was faster this time so I was slow jogging with a few sprints for the little hills. we passed a group of mom's doing stroller-cise. it was funny to see all those little sleeping babies and sweaty mommies.

gym day. first time running on the treadmill in a few weeks. they have some fancy new machines at the gym so it was nice to try out something brand new. 5 min. warm-up walk then ran 25 min. without stopping! that's the longest time I've ever run in my life (or at least the last 10 years). to bad there's a 30 min. limit on the cardio machines at my gym, I felt that I could've kept going. some times I try to sneak over the time limit, but those trainers watch our time like hawks, it must be a control thing. also did lots of thousands which overlap nicely with the new breakfast club workout. Later I plan on doing another online pilates/yoga workout to stretch things out before bed.

I love when my kid has play dates at someone else's house :) The minute he left I put on my exercise gear, jumped on a Bixi bike (bixi.com) and went for a 30 min. ride. I dropped the bike off at a random Bixi station and ran home. 1.36 miles in 17 min. not fast, but I was a hot mess when I got home. Then I did 3 online videos: booty burn, 10min., dancer abs, 10 min. and pilates 25 min. I still have knots in my back between my shoulder blades but I plan on getting a massage later in the week.

I feel so much better after a good night's sleep. I still woke up 2 times, but was able to go back to sleep. Went to lunch time hot yoga. great class with a new instructor, Amanda. my only problem with her is that she is tone deaf so when we chant oms she sounds awful! note to all yoga teachers in training: take a music class! I may also be feeling better because today is my last day working at my present assignment. For the next 2-3 weeks I will be working from home and with other, less insane clients. That means more time for exercise!

30 min. pilates class with MyYogaOnline. nice way to end the day. I hate how tight my hamstrings are from all the running and lack of yoga class.
