Back at Tula this morning for a hot power flow class. It was only two students including myself, so it was nice. :) Will def be back here if I come to Toronto again for work.
Massive Thousands catchup. I really hate these - I set the goal to keep me on track for the month and I end up with a bunch leftover at the end. Yuck. Ending my night with a few mins of meditation before bed.
A "few" more before bed... I have plenty more to catch up on. Feb Thousands ends in two days!
A few more before bed...
Power Monday! Or at least that's what I'm calling it now. Super Saturdays and Power Mondays. Today was a back to back to back series of Boot Camp with Nikki, Turbo Kick with Ali and Yoga with Shanda. Stephanie joined me for boot camp, and I think I suckered her into trying out Turbo Kick (whoo!).
I'm slowly falling behind on Thousands; need a day to catch up on all that (luckily, got to take care of some of it during boot camp)... I wanted to run a 40 minute interval session today too, just to try out the running coach audio from I got from triathlete boss-man, but um... the millimeter of snow that I saw early in the morning quickly talked me out of it.
Either way, I think I easily burned 1000+ calories, and of course, I easily negated that with my bacon cheeseburger dinner (oooops). It was yummy and worth it, though, so no regrets. People think I work out to lose weight - nope, I do it to eat more!! If my health has actually improved over the past year despite all the eggs and bacon I had (e.g., total cholesterol down, HDL up!), I don't see a reason to stop yet :)
Tried out a randomly generated workout from Gain (gainfitness.com) with James. Not bad at all! I don't think I burned 300+ calories like the site said, but I did feel some of those exercises and sweat a little. An otherwise uneventful Sunday...
Noon-time TRX again! Deveren was supposed to teach but for some reason didn't show up, so Antonio (one of the owners of Nimble Fitness) led the class (aka just me) and even offered to comp the session because the original instructor didn't come. w00t! Splendid workout, in all its 35 minute glory.
I skipped out on Nikki's boot camp at 24HF, and went home with plans of trying out a custom home workout from GAIN (gainfitness.com). Instead, I decided to go for a quick run because IT'S SO FREAKING GORGEOUS OUT. My legs protested a 3 miler so I aimed for 1, then figured I could do 2.... and finally hit 3 before heading home because I was starving. I'll try out GAIN this weekend though, promise.
I'm off to end my night with the latest Vampire Diaries and some hip opening yoga (yes, I'm counting in advance). =)
Walking to the gym yesterday, I was prepared with a speech for Manny about overworking me to the point of missing a race (Cupid's Chase last weekend), about how I initially told him I dislike working with weights and that he was using them too much, etc. But then he broke out the kickboxing gloves and pads and it went away. :)
Made it to NY Running Co after work in time for the women's only run, and got 5 miles out (without walking breaks, whoo hoo!!!). An hour of running with no music, just paying attention to my breathing and keeping up with the other girls. I seem to be okay today, not too sore, so I seem to be improving in endurance and recovery. I really like this Wednesday group in comparison to the Monday group I tried a few weeks ago. On the way back to the store at the end of the run, we stopped by some Samsung green-screen photo promotion and took a group pic. We're on the runway!
Pumped out a few thousands before bed while streaming the latest "How I Met Your Mother." I really wanted to get some yoga in but... I had to get my 7 hours of sleep. :)
Thousands catchup. :)
Oh, and while I'm here posting, join me as I attempt to go on a 30 day bikram challenge starting early March. I've done a handful of hot vinyasa classes before, but I've never done Bikram, and certainly on back to back days. The challenge not only entails 30 Bikram sessions in 30 days, but also some meditation, detoxing by foregoing that glass of wine, volunteering, and some dragon slaying (I won't say I didn't add that just so I could do the cool name).
Dragon Detox Challenge: http://socialworkout.com/challenge/showRunning/2519
By the way, it turns out (through a quick Google search) that Dragon Detox is, in fact, a tea. The internet teaches us interesting things. And lastly, you can blame those silly deal sites for my ambitious goal. I will be doing my month at Bikram Yoga Grand Central (for only $49!).

Trainer Manny kicked my ass yesterday. And he may have suckered me into getting a training package. That is all.
