"13.1 NYC" race held in Queens. I was being a little over-ambitious when I signed up for 2 half marathons 2 weekends in a row. It was stupid. I wanted to cry. I wanted to just leave the race. I was deeply fantasizing about a DNF by mile 3. But I held on because every time I wanted to give up, a good song came on, or an awesome marching band was playing, or people rang cowbells and held funny signs, and it made me forget the pain even if for a few seconds. By the time I actually noticed any medic crew, I was past the halfway mark (either I'm blind or that was bad on their part), so I sucked it up and hobbled along. Finished in 2:33. My legs are very angry at me now. Good night.
Speed training with NBR. I was really tired so I missed out on some of the workout, but it was still pretty tough.
Yay, NYC Half Marathon!

A few minutes behind my goal but I'll blame it on my stretch break :) This was technically my first long distance I've ran since the Phoenix marathon in January, soooo my calves are totally feeling it.
And yay for thefatbridesmaid and CJ on their first half!!
Speed work. My first run with NBR (North Brooklyn Runners). Oh my, what a workout. One of the toughest workouts I'd ever done.
Breakdance class at PMT! Had to call it quits here (for now) to focus on training especially with all the races coming up. I'll restart the series this summer, hopefully :)
xtini boot camp. At least that's what I'm calling it. The organizer dude for MovNat's Prospect Park group was traveling so I arranged a mini boot camp with some friends of mine. Lots of bear crawls and pushups, and other fun stuff, followed by a 3 mile run around the Prospect Park loop. Trainer Christine. I think I could get used to it. NASM here I come?
Catchup: Class numero uno out of 8, for a breakdance 101 series at PMT studios. Wowee, it was tough. And I have zero coordination. But it was fun!!
Catchup: Morning 5K with Meret and Kdoog. It was nice. It also made me realize running on a flat track is NOT the best training option, because those hills killed me.
Rushed over to Prospect Park right afterwards for a MovNat meetup. So. many. bear crawls. Love it.
Quick run this morning... mostly because I woke up at 5:30 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I was hoping the workout would help me go BACK to sleep. Ended up crawling back in bed at 7 and it worked a little too well - woke up late. Oooops.
Still counting the sunrise wakeup though because I was up and did something slightly productive.
