Catchup: Busy Saturday! Yoga for Runners at JackRabbit (I'm on the hunt for free workouts throughout NYC), but I got there late because the train wasn't running. Boo. Followed by boot camp w/ Al Kavadlo, and then finally ice skating with the sister and boyfriend. <3
OH! And a trip to Facial Spa and lots of cookie baking :)

Catchup: Half hour I.AM.YOU audio yoga in the morning. Love this stuff. Still no replacement for class though... but Lauren's off teaching at her tropical yoga retreats, so what's a girl to do?

10am boot camp at Nimble Fitness with Al Kavadlo, followed with yoga at 24 Hour Fitness with Nikki. I figured since my 24HF membership is finally about to expire after 2 years that I should do as much as I can there, and she's my fave instructor at the gym. Somewhere in between those two classes were a zucchini muffin (I like to pretend they're healthy) and a green juice from Butterfield Market. Yum.

Trip to Brooklyn Boulders after work last night. It's been a while! I didn't feel like climbing too much so I took the yoga class there as well. Loved it. Unfortunately she was a sub, and I really liked her, but that means she doesn't normally teach in the evenings. Sadface. I guess I'll have to take advantage of these early February mornings to try to make her 7am class at BKB.

Silly subway this morning.... I ended up getting to Al Kavadlo's boot camp 35 minutes late... and the class is only 50 minutes long to begin with. Oops. Better than nothing right? I stuck around the park for another 15 mins or so at the end of class to get in some pullups and Al was a dear and stayed to help me with a few things I needed work on to practice for the Urbanathlon.
After that was a vinyasa class at Om Factory. I'd only ever taken Antigrav there but I somehow always hurt my back in the first inversion in that class and I have 10+ classes left in my package... figured I'd use them up on other classes. Today's class was just weird to me. I didn't really feel any sort of "flow" to it and it just felt awkward. Didn't like it too much.
Lastly was cirque style fitness in Astoria with Kristine. It's been a while since my last aerial class but it was nice getting back to it. Today's new lesson was the bicycle climb, and also attempted to do scissor hip key on my weaker side. Fun stuff.

Awesome evening with Cindy Lai Fitness boot camp followed by Bikram. Boot camp was rough but really fun - lots of squats too. Bikram was wonderful, and I caught myself smiling a few times. Definitely seeing improvement.

Cleanse day 3. Didn't end well. Trainer Manny showed no mercy for my lack of food for the past 2 days, and 10 minutes before our session ended I got really dizzy from squatting with what he probably thought was a decent weight for me. No. I went "eff it" - workouts vs cleanse - I'm going to choose workouts. So I got a salad and soup for lunch and ditched the all-liquid cleanse. I wasn't risking getting dizzy in Bikram again. James even convinced me to eat a brownie. Yum.
And then... Bikram went so lovely. I smiled during most of the class and saw improvement in some of my poses. I was so happy. And Kyoko is an amazing instructor.
I'm most likely never doing a cleanse again (at least not one that lasts more than a day). But it was definitely a good experience, and I don't think I've ever been able to reach that level of vegetable intake in my life. It was great, just not for me.

Disappointing day-ish. To start my day off, I thought I had a wonderful 8 hours of sleep. Then I remembered Daylight Savings. Back down to 7. Sigh.
Then, I didn't make it through the entire bikram class (counting it though). Close to an hour in, I got really disoriented and numb, and couldn't catch my breath for a good 15 minutes... eventually one of the teachers at Bikram Yoga Grand Central had to help me outside of the room to rest. Guzzled down two bottles of coconut water and two hours later I was still a little dizzy, but better. Probably the result of the cleanse, or the week of Bikram that I'd just gone through, or even the early (11am is early for me) session. Better now, but hopefully tomorrow's class will be better.
James, Steph and I watched a movie and headed on over to BKB for a little climbing and perhaps some man eye-candy for the BFF. I got through a lot more than I expected considering I hadn't eaten for almost two days (surprising how much energy you can have on a juice cleanse). I improved on a few routes that I had started working on and tried out a few new ones, trying to get over the heights thing. I'm still freaking out when I get higher, but I'm getting higher every few trips, so I'm happy with that.
Being someone who doesn't enjoy deprivation all that much, I treated myself to a salad for dinner tonight. And maybe 3 munchkins. Tomorrow's the official last day for the juice cleanse, but I feel no guilt whatsoever. :)
