Back to work close to the canal so went for a longish run during lunch. Perfect weather, cool and cloudy, and I felt very motivated after Sunday's food fest. Ran almost 4 miles in 42 min with minimum stops for traffic and one breather near the end. Not fast, but I got the job done. I'm thinking a lot about going for a 10k in the fall. I will need a real training plan for that. Random running will not be enough to get me there.

Woke up early to pee and then realized I needed to get out in the garden before the rain started, again! The backyard deck is finished, the new plants are in the ground and the table has been sanded and oiled. Ate both meals out today. Brunch for the kids bday breakfast and dinner for the mans fathers day. My credit card and stomach are bulging. I hate eating out. Waste of money and calories.

Quick gym workout while the kid was at a party. Ran a 5k on the tread in 31.5 min. The tread was programmed in km so I had to guess at my speed. I think that amde me run faster than normal. The gym was also warm so I sweat buckets. Plus there were some really cute young guys close by for motivation. My usual gym is a women-only location so no eye candy.

finally some sunshine! 3 hours of working on the new backyard deck in the morning, levelling soil and spreading bags of crushed rock for the base, each bag weighs 66 lbs and I had 4 bags to deal with. My afternoon break was at the gym for my annual free trainer session. My goals for the coming year are to be able to do 1 pull-up and to run a 10K in the fall.
Of course the trainer wants to sell me private sessions, and we have another meeting to discuss that next week before I leave on vacation. I'm tempted to work with a trainer since I've never done that before, but $$$. She suggested 8 sessions / $50 each to get me ready for my 10K. Now I have to crunch the numbers.
After gym I did another 2 hours in the garden, more digging of dirt. I'm done, finished, kaput.

Morning gym. When I have time I go to a gym close to the kid's school. The classes are great but the clientele makes me think of Real Housewives. They all know eachother and it's the same people every time. Every one is nice enough and I'm comfortable with being the outsider. It's just weird. Class was military cardio with shake sticks and weights. Holy hell, those housewives know how to workout. 12 hours later and my mid-back is aching.
Tomorrow I have my annual free training session at the gym. They will ask about my goals for the coming year. I think I will show her the Navy Seal challenge and say that's what I want to do. Plus run a 10k.
