Big News: Today Social Workout launches its first Group Challenge with the Huffington Post. Get ready for the Fearless Living Boot Camp. If you're looking to be just a bit bolder in your life, or perhaps a whole lot bolder, enlist now!
Here's the backstory: Arianna Huffington wrote a great book called "On Becoming Fearless," in which she tells the story of how she stared down big ugly fears on her way to building her amazingly original and successful life. In the book, she also chronicles the stories of other women who have overcome all forms of fear to do big things. The Huffington Post in turn created a whole new section dedicated to "becoming fearless." We (Social Workout) had been talking to HuffPost about co-producing a lifestyle challenge, and they wondered if we could do a challenge related to fearlessness. Yes, of course, we said, but what activities exactly would we ask people to log or count?
Enter Rhonda Britten, an Emmy-Award-winning life coach, who has developed a system for understanding and overcoming fear. Turns out Rhonda's system, "Stretch, Risk, Die," involves practicing daily, weekly, and monthly acts of fearlessness. With a little brainstorming, we were able to create a Social Workout challenge that allows people to log their "stretches," "risks," and "dies," and to earn points for each. It's our first use of a points system on Social Workout, and we're very excited to watch the Fearless Living points start piling up!
Rhonda will explain her model over the coming days, and the main point for now is simply that we're thrilled to be working with her and the team at HuffPost, and we're ESPECIALLY excited to be finding a way to use Social Workout to help people become more bold!
