• Monday I did my first DOUBLE. That is, I went for my normal morning run, and then I ALSO went to the gym that evening to do some strength stuff. The Tough Mudder is scaring me. Not being accustomed to anything other than yoga, running, and pushups and situps, I had a momentary panic as to what to do to prepare me for climbing over walls and hanging on monkey bars. But then I recalled that jamie p. had told me about doing "count up" sets. THat's where you choose four exercises, and then do them in sequence, starting with one rep of each, and working your way up to 10 reps of each. Normally, you're then supposed to work your way back down. I made it to 10 and stopped. I did burpees, pushups, dips, and pullups. My arms still hurt two days later....

    Question for math geeks: I know that "10!" (ten factorial) equals 10*9*8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1, but what do we call 10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 ?

    • von Hottie v. You can also do a drop set, where you start at 10 reps, and work your way down. That is one of Buffin's favorite games. Or, you start with circuits of say 10 reps, increasing the weight each time. The on the last set, after you've done 10 reps at your heaviest weight, you drop the weight way back down and do reps until muscle exhaustion. You should also contact killercadoogan.
