If You Showed Me This Schedule in 2009, I Would Have Cried
For real, if you showed me this schedule in 2009, I would have cried, and then kicked you hard in the stomach and run away. That's me in the picture, the first day I joined Social Workout, thinking I was so tough because I strolled and gossiped for 5K in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women. I think I sweat maybe 3 drops, and that was because of the humidity. Also, why wasn't I wearing more pink? Now here I am, 2.5 years later, making up challenges for myself, which involve 6 workouts a week, hauling my von hottness up some fabric, and regularly lifting 100 lbs. with my hot, hot trainer.
Anyway, I realize that a 10-goal challenge makes it look like I will work out a zillion times a week. That is SO not true. I mean, I'm a lady with a lot going on. It's all about streamlining, people. Streamlining, and then cocktails. Here's the plan:
Monday - silks & cardio & foam rolling
Tuesday - personal training with Buffin
Wednesday - silks & foam rolling (& cardio if I don't do it on Mondays)
Thursday - Buffin & cardio
Friday - silks & foam rolling
Saturday - weights (because Buffin says I have to) & cardio. So if I sleep til noon, go to brunch, then workout for 2 hours, that should take me right back to cocktail hour. Perfect!
I don't know where to fit in the yoga class. I need the yoga because my legs and hips and shoulders are muy inflexib-ley. Saturdays? Maybe Sunday nights? But that's my rest day. It is so hard being this fit and fabulous! Please pass the protein martini.

Didn't wake up early but got to do an hour of I.AM.YOU yoga via iTunes. Love.

Woke up early and could only pump out a little over a mile. My feet were tireeeeed. And then I proceeded to bake 9 dozen cookies and ate almost all of it. =D

Yesterday I dedicated my personal training session to fatbridesmaid. I had told her she needed to channel Whitney Houston in her half-marathon training, and I decided to put my exercise where my mouth is. While Buffin warmed me up with sprint intervals, I sang "I Want To Run To You." "Sang" is a loose word - it was more like "rasped" or "panted" - but if I can end up singing while running, I am totally ready for the Broad-way. Then it was "How Will I Know" during walking lunges, "I Want to Dance With Somebody" during side planks and "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" during deadlifts (I had to sing in my head during deadlifts). And then "Greatest Love of All" during bicep curls. I may have thrown a verse of "Age of Aquarius" at the end, just for flair. So yes, I sang Whitney Houston in the big boyz section, which means fatbridesmaid, you can jazz hands your heart out during your half-marathon.

I had my personal training session with Buffin first thing on Valentine's Day. Buffin is a champ and let me cover him with stickers, and didn't mind when I paused the workout to replace my own stickers which sweated off. In between sets of rows and presses and lat pulldowns, he had me do jumping jacks. Somehow the topic of stickers led us to talking about Care Bears. It was too much for me. Buffin AND Valentine's AND stickers AND Care Bears???!!!! "Buffin!" I said. "I'm freaking out!!!" My jumping jacks turned into a Jane Fonda bouncing shuffle. Buffin knew it was pretty exciting for me, so he let me do my "Care Bear Shuffle" in between sets because it was just not a day for regular old jumping jacks. I left my von Valentine's for Buffin and one for the training manager who always introduces me to other people as "the second most famous person I know."

Getting out of a cab yesterday, I climbed over my purse & somehow managed to scratch the entire back of my thigh. Yee-ouch. I promise it was clumsiness and not self-scarification. Everyone was cranky in aerial silks class. I think we were all tired. I've also hurt my left lat and Heather thinks I should see a chiropractor. Best part of silks though was when I tied two footlocks, started messing around and invented two new balance poses and semi-drops.
