no title Went to Crunch twice today. First took Marc's Cardio Sculpt at Lafayette. It was packed. Is it always that way or just because people had off today? Later I went to Union Sq for Buff Yoga. I was really excited to take it because I missed it the last two weeks. But Jess wasn't there and the sub did Power Yoga instead which was also very different from the way Jess does it.
New Gym - 3 Mile Run! I bit the bullet yesterday and joined Crunch Gym through the end of March so I have indoor options for half marathon training, because sometimes, like today, it is just not possible to run outside. Way too icy! But I need to get my training runs in, so I needed an option. Crunch made me a pretty decent offer and I took them up on it.
I ran like my life depended on it I made it to a MILE!!!!! Well, 1.01 miles. I did the extra one just for the push. After 3 minutes of running I was ready to collapse. But never mind the physical aspect, do you know how much mental strength it take for me to run that much? Once I was done though I was on a high. It took me close to 12 minutes. Since I was at 59th St. Crunch I went to tell Krystal.
Oh Inversions! I love being upside down. Seriously, I love it. I needed a break, a stretch, a relaxing but invigorating workout yesterday. I needed to be upside down. With timely encouragement from sandyliz, I skipped my planned omelet and hopped out the door in time to grab the next to last spot in Anti-Gravity yoga yesterday afternoon. It was delightful.
ultimate conditioning mario subbed for zuta for this class - not enough abs!
urban rebounding recently became obsessed with this class - it's equivalent to running 3 miles, but on a trampoline!
antigravity wooo antigravity
Antigravity Yay antigravity yoga wednesdays -- filling in all the posts I haven't written.
anti-gravity yoga! stretched out, lengthened, ahhhhhh . . .
Think twice about where to put your yoga mat down.. ... in a hot yoga class. Right next to the heater= a very different workout than in the middle of the room. Amazing class, poured enough sweat to gulp down 3 water bottles later. Especially good for a Friday night to zen out for the weekend.
Project Trophy Wife I've decided recently that it's time to take my training to the next level. Not just the fitness, but all aspects of life. It's time to train for trophy wifedom. Am I engaged? Looking to be? Looking for a sugar daddy? No. I want to be my own trophy wife.
Bosu! I needed a little break from running so I did 30 minutes on the eliptical machine then hit up the Bosu Body class taught by Zuta. I loved this class. It was a little bit of everything. SOme cardio in the beginning then lots of stretching in between sets of weights. Zuta is really good at working a couple of things at a time.
Did anyone find the PT Sugar daddy? Krystal informed me today that it's time to renew my sessions and that she's been promoted twice since I started with her, so her prices are now sky-high. Two problems: I can't afford to continue with her, and I can't afford to stop (yet). I'm currently living on unemployment! Thank G-d for that at least, but it doesn't really get me anywhere.
Sunday Workout Went to the 59th St Crunch for a change of pace. Much bigger, think I'll make this my home gym. Jog Distance: 5k Walking pace: 3.5 Jogging pace: 5.2 Intervals: Walk 1.5min, jog 23 mins (!), walk 1.5mins, jog 7 mins Felt great to get to 23mins, just had to stop to wipe off sweat (no fans on these machines!).
My body wanted to move, but my head wanted to sleep Okay, cold, or whatever you are, its time to go. Left an admittedly sucky day with a scratchy throat (after beating this cold twice with 22 hours of sleep in 2 days), and on my way uptown to pick up the sneakers left at +1's, with an internal battle waging.
Eh. I very much wasn't in the mood to get off of my couch and go to the gym today. My new cat is very sick and I've been up since 4:30 in the morning trying to take care of her/coordinate with the vet/argue payment for testing fees and overnight observation and the thought of being all perky on the treadmill just didn't seem warm and fuzzy. Still, I knew I should bust up my own pity par
Flyingggggggggggggg Second anti-gravity class - the immense difference from the first to the second is unbelievable. I could do everything this time - minus the forward and backward flip, but I got wayyy further than last time. It's so nice to feel like I'm making progress!!
anti-gravity yoga, good idea. anti-gravity yoga + chicken parm pizza ... not so much. I decided to kick off the first day of the challenge with something new and exciting: Yoga! While swinging helplessly from a giant white fabric hammock bolted to the ceiling! Said hammocks purportedly support up to 1,000 pounds, or so says Crunch. That knowledge sort of made me feel safer, but the 850 lbs.
Almost forgot to make my bed (Tuesday) Woke up at 6:30 this morning and since I'm never usually up at that hour I planned on taking advantage of the early morning light and getting some pictures. It sounded like a good idea the night before, but once I got up and saw how dark and cold it was I didn't want to leave the house. So just took care of some things at home.
