For the record, that's just 2% of the total minutes in your average 24 hour day. Just saying.
Cardio dance + legs and a little bit of everything.
Yesterday was a banner day for exercising, although by the end I still hadn't logged 10,000 steps. I got to the gym after work and did a warm up 1.5 mile run then went to Pound. It had been several weeks since I'd taken it. Then I stayed and did Pilates. Hadn't taken that class before and it was a LOT of abs. Which was good. So between those two classes few steps but lots of strength workout. Dinner was an Asian salad with purple cabbage and raw beets and lunch was leftover steamed egg and broccoli.
Very extraneous latin dance class + yoga abs workout. Phew...
did some swimming and drank some beers.
Back in SF! Went to a bbq at Tom's co-worker's house. Ate a lot of grilled meats! A few veggies...Got home and went for a run after days of no real exercise (save some light laps in the pool). It felt kind of hard. So I just did 3.5 miles which included the uphill run from the Aquatic Park to Fort Mason Park.
When this challenge started I thought I'd have no problem logging 50 healthy meals but now I'm seeing that it's not so easy.
I work as a hairstylist so I am active the whole time I'm at work. I'm very busy for two 9 or 10 hour days a week. I book close so there's no downtime. I even eat standing up. My clients bring me candy, muffins, cakes, donuts, books, clothes (just got a great pocketbook) so I have to keep moving to wear it all off.
Long day at the shacklet, painting inside and planting outside. Finished with a swim in the lake to cool off and get clean. I was all alone in the water. Practiced my backstroke which is not strong. Trying for 10 strokes at a time.
Woo Hoo! Lots of activities. The water was warmish.....for here, and the surf was incredible at low tide---long rolling waves, just right for body surfing. A game of four way catch and a long walk in the sand. Then a crash on the towel for a nap. Not bad for a work day.
Had my free annual training session at the gym this morning. I was measured and weighed and it was not pretty. I'm 12 lbs. heavier than this time last year . I'm so disappointed with myself. When asked what my training objectives are for this year I had no answer. Lose weight is an obvious one but I'm not motivated. I know that I'm snacking too much, but I can't seem to stop. I'm bored being home so much so I eat.
Anyway Idid 30 min cardio on the bike and AMT machine and 30 min of kettle balls. Followed that with a 60 min. Yoga flow class. The room was not heated today so much more comfortable. The yoga helped lift my mood a bit but I'm still feeling sorry for myself.
Cardio and some abs. Didn't have much time to work out today, regrettably. I'm enjoy working out a lot more now that I discovered zumba!
Pop dance! This routine doesn't seem to have quite as much cardio as some of the routines, but once we got going and ran it straight through several times my heart was pumping. I still miss Body Jam which was made to be a great cardio workout. Healthy lunch-- salad and healthy dinner-- fish and curried veggies.
I found a great website plantcatching.com where people list plants that they want to give away, or plants that they need, and then you can go "catch" them. So today I went a got a large shrub (4' x 2') which I will plant at the shacklet. The only hitch was that I had to dig it out of the ground! I was hoping there would be some help but the owner has back problems so it was all up to me. Took about an hour of serious digging, etc. but I go that sucker out and it's ready for it's new home. She also gave me a few other small plants so I lucked out. I offered to go back next week and help her with weeds in her garden for a couple of hours as she's out of commission. I figure it's the least I can do for all the freebies.
hot yoga at lunch and a long power walk which ended with me grabbing a bikeshare instead of walking home. My foot was hurting.
