I'm glad this challenge is getting some action even though I was MIA for a while! :)
As of date, you guys have done over 1000 collective pushups, and twice as many crunches! (And more than 2x of THAT in exercise minutes). Keep up the awesomeness! Remember, this challenge is only 28 days long (not 31) so you want to be as close as you can to 50% by the end of today.
On another note, how interested would NYC folks be in possibly meeting up for a Thousands-inspired workout, on either a weekly or bi-weekly basis? This is purely my own selfishness because I need other people to keep me accountable for these challenges :)
Tuesday evenings would work best for me, and I was thinking Central Park since The Running Company is close-by and we could change and store our gear there. 7pm-ish, for 45-60 minutes a session. Weather-permitting because I'm a baby. What do you guys think?
Disclaimer: *ahem* I am not a certified personal trainer or anything like that, just getting a group of folks together for a workout. Anything you are doing is at your own risk.

Woh! Resurfacing from the darkness of non-logging, to the light of accountability. It's been more than a week since I last updated, and I've missed it. Last week was tough on the body. We were madly working on upcoming challenges and the various changes to the site that we just "released" (more on those in separate post!), and I tend to get tunnel vision when we're doing product development. Makes me realize, sigh, that we need to make the whole Social Workout application MUCH more compelling! How can it be helpful if even I can skip a week. Doh! Well, we have lot's of ideas for improvements, (points! awards! more social!), and we'll get there. For now, though, I'm diligently filing my catch up posts. MUST see what my final May Thousands score is, and this requires extensive back posting. Please forgive the clutter....
I did 5 hours of dance lessons (teaching, showing, practicing), then emperor norton's ball which ran 7pm-2am. Dancing almost every song! :):):)
Last day of Thousands!
biked to and from hot yoga. I feel tired but in a good way.
How did I get this blister on the inside of my arch? Dang it! Ran some trails in Memorial Park and I could have gone running longer than 3 miles, but it was just plain uncomfortable after mile 3. I guess its time to invest into some good trail running shoes.
Walked the last (4th) mile and did some pushup. Gratuated to one leg pushups :)
I forget that this site is set to NY timezone, so my numbers for yesterday went into today because I logged them after 11pm. I guess I'll just have to do that workout again today :)
woke up this morning and thought it was a work day and I was late. Only took me a second to realize that it's the weekend, but the damage was done, I was up before 8 am on a Saturday. Feeling tired all day but I managed a bootcamp workout in the park while the kid was at taekwondo. 30 min. of pushups, squats, walking lunges, park bench step ups, picnic table abs and then a lap around the park, 1.5 miles, 15 min. and 10 min. of yoga. Not bad for feeling unmotivated. Have to say that the beautiful weather was very helpful. Also did an hour of gardening in the afternoon and now I'm completely wiped out and plan on spending my evening on the couch watching Downton Abbey reruns. Need to catch up.
