A lot of catch up posts are about to follow, just fyi.
My fitness schedule was all messed up last week, with rehearsals and the holiday, so it was super nice to be back at aerial silks class tonight. I learned a fancy new variation on the roll-up. It kind of torques my knee, so I made up a new variation on the final pose. I also did my first crossback straddle since I threw out my back a few weeks ago.
I ran for a bit, and while stretching, I overheard a woman having an intense confessional with her personal trainer. The woman had gone to Chipotle once last week, and by the way they talked about it, it seemed like she'd committed a mortal sin. That kind of conversation drives me crazy, and when I overhear it in the locker room, it makes me stabby. If you are paying someone to help you do big, important things to make your body stronger, why waste your time asking them to guilt/punish you? I mean, I'm all for accountability, sweating hard, eating vegetables and, ahem, attempting to cut down on the booze (*points at self*), but overhearing those kinds of conversations between women makes me think that really they should just pay the trainer to flog them with their food journals. Ladies, get it together, stop beating yourself up and lift heavy things! Geez! Also, if the most exciting story I ever have to tell Buffin is about Chipotle, he better tell me to get a life.
