Tuesday AM personal training session with Buffin. My left lat is all kinds of funky & Buffin thinks it may be my ribs out of whack. (Rad!) So we stuck to running and then an ab marathon. Tons of different crunches followed by jackknives. That's when your forearms are on the bench, your legs are on an exercise ball and you bring your knees in over and over again. I told Buffin I could feel the jackknives in my deep Gisele ab muscles, which led us into a discussion of Bridget Moynahan and how we will NEVER FORGET, Tom Brady, NEVER FORGET (when he left Bridget for Gisele). In between ab sets, I did knee pushups with my hands on dumbbells. I guess my hips were not aligning with my shoulders, so Buffin held my hips while I went up and down in my pushups. The training manager walked by at this moment, and stopped to watch us. When were done he said, "I'm jealous." Yeah, my trainer holds my hips and makes all the big boyz JEALOUS ... but are they jealous of my form, my trainer or my hips?
BIG NEWS: Today Buffin is coming with me to aerial silks class. I will take so many pictures.

Monday silks class. Nothing exciting to report. Just chugging along, holding on, falling down, getting back up. I think I can, I think I can.

Friday: Big day in aerial silks class. Heather decided to do something different, so we practiced orbiting. This means you wrap the silk around one wrist, keep your shoulders engaged and then run, run, run and...take off! I felt as beautiful and famous as Miss Piggy. It's definitely a showstopper. Lady Bulldozer was doing all sorts of crazy things with her strong arms where she would orbit and then spin herself up inside the flying fabric. I stuck with classic gliding and elegant leg work. You can see video here: http://youtu.be/MMalE2w_qHY
Also, my beloved Sila (who's been with me since my first silks class) was finally back from all of her travels. Reunited at last! For my big finale in class, I climbed all the way to the top of the silk, with no one holding the bottom (aka giving me training wheels). I've been climbing on my own for months now, but halfway up, I usually come down. It's part fear, and part not wanting to burn out in the first 5 minutes of class. But now that I know I can do it, I have to try to do it every time. Onward and upward. Next stop: the moon!

Working it hard with Buffin this afternoon. Interval runnng, then barbell deadlifts (115 lbs, baby!) interspersed with planks, then lumbar back extensions with weights, and lunges with weights. But the big news: Buffin put a ring on it! Well okay, it was my ring, which he was holding in his pocket for me while we worked out, but still, BUFFIN PUT A DIAMOND RING ON MY FINGER!!!!
After stretching, I spent a good long time in the sauna, having some of the best girl talk with two ladies I didn't know. Straight talk in the sauna gets really real, really fast.
