Catchup: Al Kavadlo indoor boot camp. These classes are getting too repetitive for me...
At least according to the east coast, this month's edition of Thousands has come to an end. But that only means a new one coming up in just a few days for February!
Congrats to Maggie C, Tracie M, and Karen C who as of tonight have logged far and beyond the thousands goals. Honorable mention to Tara M who was -thisclose- to hitting 100%. The rest of you, well, y'all accumulated well over TWENTY THOUSAND minutes of exercise in the last 28 days, among some other praiseworthy stats, and I have one word for that: Amazeballs.
If you are trailing behind (like me, *cough*) and have some numbers to log, be sure to do so soon by coming back to this page (http://socialworkout.com/challenge/showRunning/19415) if you are unable to see your goals on your homepage, and going back to a previous date to log appropriately.
See you again in a few days :)

Let the record show that on three successive Saturdays I've substituted Zumba for Yoga. I have no regrets, but it makes me sad that my progress in the 21 Day challenge suffers. I really did mean to double up with a yoga class, but never quite got back around to it. Still, my groove is slowly coming back....
Was supposed to do cross training today - but didn't make it to the gym. I'm counting the 2 hour walk/hike as my 50 minutes of cross training. Finished with 1000's at the end of the day. My guests didn't even notice I was doing yoga at 5:30am - they were still sleeping :)
Healthy living highlight of Friday: Evening yoga at Jivamukti, followed by dinner in the Jiva Cafe — consisting of the "Green Machine" juice medley (smelling pleasantly of hay barn), and the "Montana" salad (greens, black beans, brown rice). Naturally, this was followed by a Medium Sprite and Popcorn with (artificial) butter at the Regal Union Square Cinemas, where I went with the crew to see Hugo 3D. Moving directly from meditation to Sascha Baron Cohen in 3D is a fairly abrupt transition, but, weirdly, it worked out well. Count it!
This morning I was feeling brave and decided to step on the scale. Much to my surprise I'm down 5 lbs. since Christmas!! I didn't believe it so I weighed myself again after my shower, it was still the same. Not sure exactly which of my resolutions have paid off. I hope it wasn't just the decrease in alcohol, because I can't live like that forever. One big change I've made is to stop eating so much bread. I've always been a big fan of carb-loading but you are what you eat and I'm tired of looking like a muffin. So since Jan. 1 I've been trying my best to not eat bread, cereal and baked goods. I'm also a realist with a kid so pasta and pizza are still part of my diet, but only at dinner. Now I eat a lot more whole grains (oatmeal, brown rice, quinoa) and salads or soups for lunch.
Since today is the last day of thousands I made an effort to do a bit of everything at the gym. Also 20 min. elliptical (boring) and some stretching. Now that I've gotten over my dislike of running, I need to work on my dislike of weight training.
Mussels and champagne are on the menu tonight so I've already logged my alcohol :)
Played Mario Galaxy for an hour...then went for a run outside. Trying not to let differing mileage measurements bother me.
Can we get a feb challenge? I can't edit it:, but I was thinking bumping min of exercise, pushups, dips, squats, and lunges up to 1500 goals, and adding plank pose and wall sits for 100 minutes. Anyone got an account level to make this happen?
workity mcwork.
guests visiting. I wonder how they will react to 5am yoga? :)
hot yoga. it was tough. lots of squatting, twisting, lunging and holding poses. did some foam-rolling at home to relax my back.
Evening yoga. It's been a bad week for early morning practices, and, frankly, I'm now quite worried about the Dawn Patrol. On the upside, still haven't really felt like having a drink. Count it.
