Saturday's workout was a special one: An outdoor yoga class taught by Kevin and Dana Courtney of Kula Yoga fame. Kevin led us through some fun Qigong exercises, which involved bouncing on our feet, with loose limbs, and occasionally making strange sounds. (Say the word "hung" without opening your mouth while contracting your diaphragm sharply.) While we were doing this, a small dog name Milosz ran among us. Lovely. And healthy. Count it.
Had such a terrible sleep that I couldn't work up any energy for working out. Feeling so sluggish...
Since Buffin is way into our Flashdance Ninja Kettlebell workout, I wore 80s exercise clothes. Good thing, because there were plenty of turkish getups, pushups, one-armed swings. I would have taken a picture, but I was too busy drowning in sweat.Then Buffin took me to the big boyz section, where I graduated to doing deadlifts with the big barbell and 85 lbs and everything.
I was so sore from Buffin that aerial silks was a struggle. I tried many heroic things, and failed. But, for a brief 3 seconds, I held myself in the air in the elusive "position of strength." So there was that. Then I drank prosecco on Kaitlyn's couch, and went to a burlesque show with Sassletic. I forced Sassletic to enter the dance contest with me. All I have to say is, any judge who doesn't pick me or Sassletic as a winner IS NO JUDGE AT ALL!
