'I Heart Fall' Challengers,
We came, we logged calories, we showed fall who's boss! Over two hundred challengers began this adventure, and sixty have crossed the important 50% symbolic mark. A round of wild applause to the twelve trailblazers who met or surpassed the 100% mark! Good news: we've got a great assortment of schwag, like jump ropes, gym bags, water bottles and cookbooks to be distributed amongst the 100% club. You earned it! We'll be messaging you shortly with more information, but for now, it's time for a big group cheer! Bravo on all of your accomplishments this fall!
We knocked off 42,627 crunches, 22,298 pushups, 42,194 minutes of cardio and made ourselves 2,322 meals - not to mention those thousands of calorie logging days! That's an impressive performance of health, virtue and self-care! Deafening cheers go to the top 3 women in the challenge: Megan T, Sharon H., and Bernardine T. Exuberant fist pumps are in order for the top 3 men in the challenge: Steve K., Adrian S., and Donald B. And of course, a parade's worth of salutes all around for your extraordinary show of support for your fellow challengers. There's no way your fellow challengers could have made those strides without all of your "hearts," comments, and virtual camaraderie. Way to make it a fantastic fall!
Now that you've put in all this hard work, we'd hate to see you stop short. We've got some new challenges, which we'll be rolling out in October. We hope to see you in those, front and center. The 'I Heart Fall' Prize Committee
Social Workout Meetup at the High Line Rink! It didn't rain, but it was muggy. fatbridesmaid and I are novice roller skaters, but we are earnest! We are also not too proud to ask for help when we need it, and so we employed the use of "skate-mates" - the triangular granny cart on wheels that give uneasy skaters something to support them. We were joined by CJ and Christine N., who were practically pros. We skated round and round, fatbridesmaid and I cheering each other with "Go, granny, go!" and lots of "Wheeee!" All four of us met often in the middle for roller dance parties. I almost fell over during the roller dance parties, even with the aid of my granny cart. After, Fraidy, Kaitlyn and Sassletic joined us for beer and wine on tap and lobster rolls from the Red Hook Lobster Truck. fatbridesmaid and I split an ice cream sandwich, which was so mountainous, just coordinating the eating of it should count as a social workout. CJ, Sassletic and I ended the night with a lovely stroll down the High Line. It was a perfect early fall evening.
The 'I Heart Fall' Slim-Down Challenge is officially over, but, as usual, we are giving everyone a one-day grace period to catch up on their posting. So, you have until midnight on Friday to finish logging your activity. Come Monday, we'll have a lively virtual awards ceremony with big cheers and high fives for all, plus some news on what's next!
