By the end of the Challenge, you'll feel delicious changes in your body, your concentration, and your attitude. It's true! Yoga makes everything better.  Sign up here to receive the daily asana practice by email. Here's what you need to do: Form a team. Get some friends together and form a virtual team. Each day every team member will check off the basic Challenge duties he or she has mastered, and log any additional yogi fun they've had. Going solo? Not a problem! The Perform Beautifully Challenge

What You Do Each week, Cari Shoemate will post a video dividing your hour-long workouts into three major components: cardio, strength and core. Your job is to exercise 6 times a week, following Cari's guidelines, and her expert fitness beauty and confidence tips. You'll also perform one beautiful act per day (your choice) and track it here on Social Workout. By the end of the month, you'll be looking good, and feeling beautiful, inside and out. Prizes GRAND PRIZE: Complete 100% of the challenge and be entered to win a pair of Oakley sunglasses. SILVER PRIZE: Complete 75% of the challenge and be entered to win an outfit from Oakley. BRONZE PRIZE: Complete 50% of the challenge and be entered to win one of Cari's workout DVDS plus an email training session. Writing Challenge

Mia L., Tallahassee, FL: You've probably heard of Agraphia Writing Groups based on Paul Silva's book "How to Write a Lot: A Practical Guide to Productive Academic Writing". I'm taking this idea online and using the power of social networking to move us along in our writing goals. Here's how it works: Carve out at least 30 minutes every day to write. You can focus on any writing project (thesis/dissertation; research article; conference paper; novel; blog; etc.) that contributes to a significant productivity goal. Your goal is to produce 1/2 to 1 page a day for 30 days. Don't focus on format or copyediting - it doesn't need to be perfect - just get your thoughts down on paper. Watch the words add up. Clear Your Space, Make Room for GREAT Things.

Kate O., Madrid: Clear your space, clear your mind is BACK to help you ease into fall and winter with better health, improved decision-making capacity and...nicer-looking home and work spaces! Clutter not only clogs up our homes and work spaces, it clogs up our minds. It's time to clear out, clean up and make space for new, exciting things and thoughts! We'll start small: we will get rid of one (1) thing per day. Just one is enough, but if you find yourself inspired, by all means, don't stop at one. What do we do with the stuff? Donate, recycle, give away, throw away. But you must get ONE THING out of your space per day -- setting it aside for recycling isn't enough, it needs to be put into a recycling bin or taken to a donation center, or physically handed over to the person to whom you intend to be its future owner. Share your throw-outs (recycled, donated or otherwise): expired medicine, clothes you just don't wear, books someone else will make better use of, receipts from 2003...the possibilities are endless. And they should no longer be in your house. Photos posted by some team members were especially inspirational to me last time! Focus on this: keep things that make you feel good, get rid of things that make you feel bad. Doubts? Let the rest of the group help you decide! Want some reading material to help you along? This challenge was very, if not wholly inspired by Gail Blanke's Throw Out Fifty Things, and Karen Kingston's Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui. In fact, in honor of Gail's super motivating power, the challenge will last 51 days: 1 day for every thing, plus one more for good luck (you know, like birthday candles). So let's get to it...what will you get rid of today?

So, it's that time of year when we must one again prove to ourselves, and the world, that we can be more than the overstimulated, gluttonous, substance-abusing creatures that we were during the final, holiday-drenched days of the year. This transformation from holiday caterpillar to New Year's butterfly requires a great exertion of will. This process is benefited enormously by public commitment and daily accountability.  We invite you to join the extended Social Workout family as we push each other to start the new year on an inspired, mega healthy note.  Did we mention the prizes?  Your own deep aspirations coupled with intense social pressure should be enough to motivate you, but if you are craven enough to require external incentives, not to worry.
